How far away is the University from the train station, and how can I get there?
Our University Park campus is approximately 20 minutes away from Nottingham train station.
There will be a free shuttle bus taking students directly to the University from the train station. This will run between 8am-5.30pm, and will be departing at regular intervals throughout the day. -The bus stops closest to the train station are Broadmarsh bus station (for Trent Barton’s Indigo services) or Canal Street (for Nottingham City Transport’s 13 and 14 services). Both Broadmarsh and Canal Street are very close to the train station itself.
You may wish to take a taxi rather than a bus. However, avoid rogue and unlicensed taxi drivers - Nottingham City Council licenses two types of vehicles - Hackney Carriages and Private Hire vehicles. If you get into a Private Hire car without pre-booking it (that is - you stop it or find it in the street) you may not be covered by insurance. Private Hire drivers call this 'flying' and they know they are breaking the law. If you are involved in an accident you will experience difficulty in claiming for any damage or injuries. When will I receive correspondence?
As soon as you complete a booking, you will receive an automated confirmation email. We will then send you an information pack with all of the information you will need for the day. This will arrive approximately 3 weeks before you are due to visit
I want to change a booking or cancel one, what do I do?
If you wish to change the date of your visit or a talk time, please contact the Enquiry Centre. We will be able to make this change for you providing spaces are available.
Should I receive a ticket for the talks?
You will need to bring your confirmation letter with you on the day if you have booked onto additional talks. Unfortunately, if you don't bring your letter we cannot guarantee you entry to these talks as they are very popular.
Can I bring someone else with me?
You are more than welcome to bring friends or family members with you. The booking form allows for yourself and two other guests. For our most popular talks, it may only be possible for one guest to attend in addition to the student. However wherever possible we will try and accommodate everyone if logically possible
If the bookings are closed, can I still come anyway?
Where can I park?
You will be able to park at our University Park Campus, and you will not require a permit. Parking stewards will direct you to a space upon arrival. There is no charge.
Which entrance shall I use?
For visitors interested in arts, law and social sciences subjects please use the West Entrance. For visitors interested in science, engineering, medicine and health science subjects please use the North Entrance
Can I visit Jubilee or Sutton Bonington campus also?
We have free Hopper buses which will take guests between campuses. The majority of talks will be taking place at University Park, but some talks and activities will be taking place at our other campuses. If you have booked to attend our Vet School activities, you will need to go to our Sutton Bonington campus
Do I have to register?
Upon arrival, please bring with you your reply slip and you can drop these off at a number of boxes that will be located across the campus.
