We are looking forward to welcoming you to The University of Nottingham for one of our undergraduate open days.

The School of Biosciences is based at Sutton Bonington Campus, south of Nottingham, also home to the University’s School of Veterinary Medicine and Science. The School is recognised as a leading international centre for teaching and research as well as being known for its extremely friendly community atmosphere.

Academic staff will be available at Sutton Bonington Campus (based in The Barn) throughout the day from 9.30am until 4pm to give advice and information about all courses within the School, including talks and laboratory demonstrations. Current students will give tours of the campus and answer questions on all aspects of life at Sutton Bonington Campus. There will also be general talks about accommodation, finance and life at Sutton Bonington.

The School’s Placement Officer will be available from 12-2pm to discuss taking a year out in industry.

The Disability Liaison Officer will be available from 12-2pm to answer any questions you may have.

Please note: Environmental Science and Environmental Biology is based at University Park Campus

Once you have pre-booked your place for the open day, you will be sent a full programme of events which will help you to plan your day.

Talks can get very busy so please always plan a contingency if the talk is full when you arrive and you have to attend a later slot, and look out for talks that require advance booking.

Campus Tours (all subjects based at Sutton Bonington Campus)

Every half hour between 9.30am and 4pm: Campus tours, including accommodation viewing, led by student guides


Approximately 50 minutes


Visitors travelling to the campus should enter via the West Entrance (see campus map) where free parking is available; staff will be on hand to direct you to the registration point in The Barn (student amenities centre).

A free hopper bus is available between Sutton Bonington Campus and University Park. Times and pick-up/drop off points will be available in your open day information pack.

If you are unable to visit Sutton Bonington, please visit the Biosciences stand in Zone 3 information hub on University Park Campus.


The Barn (student amenities centre) will be open throughout the day for drinks and food, with lunch available from 12pm-2pm. In addition, a BBQ will be available 12pm-2pm (weather permitting).
