Biomaterials
Nottingham is fortunate to have a large number of research groups working
in the area of Biomaterials and medical devices. These groups come from
eight Schools across the campus. There is close collaboration between
these groups and also with clinicians at the University Hospital, Queens
Medical Centre and also the City Hospital. A focus for this activity is
the virtual Centre
for Biomaterials and Medical Devices within the University. The following
sections give a brief description of just some of the Biomaterials work
at Nottingham. More detailed information on these and other group activities
can be found on www.nottingham.ac.uk/biomaterial.
The University is a lead partner in the Medical
Devices Faraday Partnership. The University is also a Cluster Leader
within the European Thematic Network "Materials in Medicine"
(MatMed) and was Network leader of the EPSRC funded UK Biomaterials
Network.
