Current Research

Current post at the Division of Animal Health and Welfare involves the development and application of Novel Technologies for Surveillance of Emerging and Re-emerging Infections of Wildlife. Previous expertise will be applied and expanded in this project. Data generated will be modelled for epidemiological information.

Past Research

Postdoctoral Research Scientist, Institute for Animal Health (IAH), UK. The post at the Coronavirus Research Group involved the development and validation of an oligonucleotide-based microarray for the detection and characterisation of avian viruses, using infectious bronchitis virus as a model, and of mammalian viruses such as bluetongue virus and foot-and-mouth disease virus (in collaboration with the Molecular Characterisation and Diagnostics Group at IAH Pirbright Laboratory) as part of the Defra BioSecurity Chip (BioChip) Consortium.
