Bree graduated with BVMS degree from Murdoch University, Australia in 1998. She worked for several years in general small animal practice in the UK, before commencing practice at an RSPCA Animal Hospital in 2004. Her role there involved veterinary care of RSPCA animals in the hospital and rehoming centre, and delivering subsidised treatment to owned animals. in 2010 she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from the University of Southampton. Bree joined the University of Nottingham in 2015 as a teaching associate at Dog Trust, and began teaching in first opinion small animal practice in 2016.

Bree mostly teaches final year veterinary students on clinical rotations. She teaches small animal first opinion practice and shelter medicine, looking at decision making for populations of small animals. Her interest in behaviour is particularly applied to the welfare of small animals patients in the veterinary setting or shelter, as well as how behaviour is involved with disease. Bree also teaches practical cat handling to first year students.
