Biography

Jo Joined the SVMS in September 2013 from her previous role as a group leader and NACWO (named animal welfare officer) at a contract breeding and research center where she had worked for the last 16 years in varying roles through the company working with many different species and people, this included setting up several facilities abroad and trouble shooting problems with animal welfare. Previous to this Jo worked at Mars Pet-foods as a animal husbandry technician , went to Loughborough college to get her ACCESS to HE Science to get into university and was a veterinary Nurse for several years at a couple of different practices in Leicestershire.Jo has completed qualifications in Animal Care and Animal Science at Brooksby Melton College.

Expertise Summary

Jo is one of the University Teaching Technician working at the Animal Heath and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (Sutton Bonington) where her main responsibility is to provide support to fifth year students on their pathology rotation. She works as a technician in the post mortem room, assisting VLA vets, Minster vets, and the university pathologists in providing safe, well run practical sessions allowing students to learn and practice skills involved in this area of veterinary medicine.
