Following 4 years in Acute Mammalian Toxicology and a 7 year spell carrying out research in Parasite Immunogenetics, Simon joined the Vet School as Senior Teaching Technician in 2006.

Expertise Summary

Simon Clifford is Senior Teaching Technician leading the teams responsible for the management, coordination and development of teaching facilities and resources in the clinical skills and clinical laboratory science, pathology, and dissection and surgery areas of the school. Simon has day to day management responsibilities for the schools animal facilities and sits on the school safety committee as divisional safety officer for clinical teaching and fire officer for the clinical building. Simon also sits on the Learning Community Forum and the Sutton Bonington Campus Amenities Committee.

In 2012 Simon was awarded the prestigious University of Nottingham Lord Dearing Award for his "Outstanding contribution to the development of teaching and student learning"

Following a 14 month spell as Acting School Manager in 2012/13, Simon was promoted in 2014 to TS5; the highest level of technical support within the university.
