The judges were particularly impressed with the the strength and enthusiasm of the community of users that has grown up around Xerte, in Higher Education and, in particular, in Further Education.]]></description>

      <title>Xerte v2.6 and Xerte Online Toolkits v1.5 Released</title>

      <description><![CDATA[Version 2.6 of Xerte and version 1.5 of Xerte Online Toolkits have been released and are available from the Xerte website at http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/xerte. Xerte Online Toolkits contains two new templates for creating content and support for publishing content into the xpert repository now that the xpert project is drawing to a close. Xerte 2.6 is a maintenance release addressing several minor bugs and enhancements. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the latest release.

      <title>Xerte Online Toolkits v1.0 - Released</title>

      <description><![CDATA[The Xerte Project has reached a major milestone with the release of Xerte Online Toolkits v1.0.<br><br>Toolkits v1.0 brings a range of new features to the browser-based version of our authoring tools, allowing users to easily collaborate in the development of learning materials.<br><br>Authors will find an improved interface and a number of workflow enhancements, a wider choice of page templates, improved support for RSS publishing and open courseware syndication, additional accessibility controls and better support for collaboration. Content is more readily shared, reused and repurposed through the ability to export and import projects.<br><br>Developers will find a more easily portable and customisable application, and find it easier to extend the existing templates and develop new ones, and the ability to share toolkits data with other applications, and integrate toolkits with other systems.<br><br>System adminstrators will find an improved installer, support for windows servers, and a management interface for day-to-day administrative tasks.<br><br>Many thanks to everyone who has contributed throughout the beta programme.<br><br>http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/xerte

      <title>Xerte Online Toolkits Beta 0.9</title>

This is an incremental release, addressing all of the  issues reported so far. The release version 1.0 is scheduled for January 29th, and will be a complete build suitable for installing in your production environments.
