Pervious concrete for stormwater management
Liv Haselbach, associate professor with Washington State University's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, researches concrete surfaces that can absorb water, rather than allowing water to run off and cause pollution, flooding, or other problems.
Haselbach says, "WSU has been installing various sections of pervious concrete and porous asphalt on the Pullman campus to see how they might help with stormwater management on campus and prevent icing conditions in the winter. Researcher

Geoff Baylis Lecture 2009
The Geoff Baylis lectures are a joint initiative between the Otago Botanical Society and the Department of Botany, University of Otago. This lecture was presented by Associate Professor Daphne Lee, a paleo-botanist. The title is "Palms, Podocarps, orchids and proteads: the contribution of new fossil plants from Otago and Southland to our understanding of NZ's vegetation history." The lecture was given on the 16th of September 2009.
