Under the military government of 1976-1983, Argentina suffered massive and systematic violations of human rights, the consequences of which still linger today. Sergio Torres is a federal judge, presiding over a case that involves more than 800 incidents of illegal detentions, torture, disappearances and deaths. Chetan Bhatt is Professor of Sociology and Director of the Centre for the Study of Human Rights, LSE.
