Cornershop - it's a BARGAIN! TWO for the price of ONE!
Cornershops is a work in progress which has arisen out of a larger area of research that has the working title of 'Interiors' and involves investigations into alternative photographic perspectives. It is also influenced by the dual perspective work made previously in collaboration with Jawed Ashraf (Twins and Keep Left).
Cornershops are images which depict almost believable spaces and playfully draw viewers in by their direct, documentary quality and this, combined with enough carefully disgu
Design, optimization and in vivo evaluation of a tissue-engineered anterior cruciate ligament replac
This thesis examined the development of a tissue-engineered ligament (TEL) for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repair and replacement. There was an in vitro evaluation of the cellular response to the TEL and an in vivo evaluation of the optimized TEL as an ACL replacement. Scaffold fabrication was based upon the use of poly ([Greek small letter alpha]-hydroxyester) acid fibers arranged in a 3-dimensional (3-D) braided structure. In vitro cellular evaluation of the poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PL
Carbon nanotube reinforced carbon nano composite fibrils by electro-spinning
Fibers of Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) are the precursor of 90% of produced carbon fibers. It is generally thought that the better the degree of molecular orientation in the original PAN fiber, the better the mechanical properties, in particular the modulus of the resultant fibers. Electro-spinning is a unique process in that it is able to produce polymer fibers having diameters ranging over seve ral orders of magnitude, from the micrometer range typical of conventional fibers down to the nanometer r
A Look Back at Braddock
A Look Back at Braddock District is a local history, the story of a rural region in the heart of Fairfax County, Virginia, transformed over time into a sprawling suburb of Washington, DC. The memories of more than 50 Northern Virginia residents are captured in oral histories. Photographs, documents, maps and artifacts amplify these personal experiences and document growth and change in the area. The site offers lesson plans and activity ideas as well as other resources in a database. Explore ta
Essential Science for Teachers: Physical Science
In-depth interviews with children that uncover their ideas about the topic at hand.,In this segment the interviewer is using the phenomenon of salt dissolving in water to build upon the student's previous ideas about mixing substances together. This time the student sees one of the substances as "disappearing." Even though he says the mixture will still taste salty, which is evidence that there is salt in the water, he shows that he holds on to a belief that the salt has disappeared and is gone.

Private Universe Project in Mathematics: Workshop 2. Are You Convinced?
Proof making is one of the key ideas in mathematics. Looking at teachers and students grappling with the same probability problem, we see how two kinds of proofproof by cases and proof by inductionnaturally grow out of the need to justify and convince others.,25 min. Englewood, New JerseyTeachers Workshop Englewood, a town with unsatisfactory student test scores, is implementing a long-term project to improve math achievement. to you than I usually let pass without writing,

quiet then prevailed until about five in the evening.
At this time, they massed all their forces for a
last bold dash. It seems that every available
man was put in their columns for this desperate
onslaught. The attack was made a little to the
left of our centre, and they came on with tre-
mendous power. The had to pass only open fields
under our artillery which opened with a roar of
thunder upon them, and thinned their ranks,
three times were they repulsed. A
