Cell Differentials
Cell Differentials offers a visual dataset of white blood cells that gives students practice in developing strategies and techniques for the recognition of these blood cell types. Over 100 different cell images are randomly presented with feedback on successful identification. In traditional labs, the recognition of white blood cell types can be compromised by several factors. Developmental changes can make recognition difficult and some cell types exhibit similar features. Microscopy can be a

Food Interaction Study
This dataset comes from a study of 8 healthy males randomly assigned to a two-period crossover design, in which they either fasted and then ate, or ate and then fasted. They were given one dose of a drug, blood samples were collected and data on plasma levels were collected. Questions from this study refer to the absorption of the drug. A text file version of the data is found in the relation link.

Model testing of passive site stabilization
Passive site stabilization is a new technology proposed for use in mitigation of liquefaction risk at developed sites. Liquefaction is the rapid loss of strength caused by earthquakes, typically found in saturated sands or loose fills, which causes the formation to flow like later. Liquefaction has been known to be a very costly occurrence claiming many lives, damaging structures and businesses, and costing billions of dollars in repairs; however, sites can be remediated to prevent liquefaction.

In 1996, the ternary compound titanium silicon carbide (Ti3SiC2) was for the first timesynthesized as a single-phase, fully dense compound. Its characterization revealed aunique combination of properties. For its high fracture toughness, low hardness toelastic modulus ratio and excellent damage tolerance, it was dubbed a soft ceramic. Italso displayed good thermal shock and oxidation resistance. In this work, thereinforcement of this material with silicon carbide and titanium carbide particles w

ATP deficit in oxygen-limited tumour cord growth (FF++)
This is a simulation of tumor cord growth, where cells suffer from hypoxia (energy deficit shown with color). The tumor grows along the blood vessel (coincides with x-axis). Red line shows the position of the tumor–host interface. This particular simulation was programmed in FreeFEM++ out of curiosity. The source code for simulation may be found at http://code.google.com/p/cord. This video reflects work in progress and may be different from the final results.
