The Eastern Orthodox Church part 3 of 3
If you are Orthodox Christian, your religion was founded in the year 33 by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It has not changed since that time. Our church is now almost 2,000 years old. And it is for this reason, that Orthodoxy, the Church of the Apostles and the Fathers is considered the true "one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church." This is the greatest legacy that we can pass on to the young people of the new millennium.
A Brief History of the Catholic Church
A brief history of the Catholic Church from Pentecost till today in the style of "The History Channel" or "The Discovery Channel."
The Final Stage in Digestion
This very short video shows what happens when the digestion process comes to an end. It explains that solid waste is produced at the end of digestion.
The Large Intestine
This short video shows the stage in digestion where the large intestine works. It explains that during digestion water is reabsorbed into the large intestine.
Pioneer Spirit: Westward Movement and the Oregon Trail
A seven minute video about the conditions experienced by the settlers as they traveled the Oregon Trail to the West. An excellent overview. Students would benefit by having a map of the trail and a timeline. Run time 02:00
Multiplying 2-digit decimals by 2-digit decimals
In this video learn how to multiply decimals that are more than one digit. Step by step demonstration of how to multiply 2 digit by 2 digit decimals.
Finding Slope Given 2 Points
The instructor uses the electronic chalkboard to demonstrate how to determine the slope of a line when given two points that are on that line. Using the graph is modeled first followed by a step by step approach using the formula for slope.
Finding the Slope of a Line When Given a Graph
The instructor uses an electronic chalkboard to demonstrate how to find the slope of a line when given its graph. A definition of slope is given and one example is modeled using a step by step approach to determine the slope of the given line.
Graph a Line Using Slope
This video shows how to graph a line using slope (rise over run) by plotting the points. Instructor works out the problem on a white board.
Definition of Slope
One of the most important things to understand about lines is the definition of slope. Slope is the 'steepness' of the line, also commonly known as rise over run. This video clip explains how to calculate slope by dividing the change in the x-value between two points over the change in the y-value. In order to understand the importance of the definition of slope, one should understand how to interpret graphs and how to write an equation. (5:07)
Finding the Slope of a Line from a Graph
This video clip explains how to find the slope easily and quickly when given a line and its graph. Finding the slope of a line from a graph is one of the simplest ways to calculate slope. One must remember when finding the slope of a line that a downhill line has a negative slope, and an uphill line has a positive slope. (1:22)
Find the Slope of a Line from Two Points
This video explains how to find the slope of a line from two points. This is often the most efficient way to calculate slope, and can be done with a simple formula to find rise over run. Finding the slope of a line from two points requires us to know the definition of slope and how to plot points. (1:32)
Step-By-Step Solutions for Algebra
Excellent video from Jimmy Chang, who has a master's degree in math and has been a math teacher at St. Pete College for more than eight years. Mr. Chang explains step by step how to solve problems in Algebra explaining the importance of showing all steps involved.
Calculus Limits: A Numerical Approach
In Calculus, the term limit is used to describe the value that a function approaches as the input of that function approaches a certain value. This video explains the two ways to demonstrate Calculus limits: a numerical approach or a graphical approach. In the numerical approach, we determine the point where the function is undefined and create a table of values to determine the value of the variable as it approaches that point. (1:45)
One-Sided Limits
This video explains one-sided limits. A limit is the value that a function approaches as the input of that function approaches a certain value. In Calculus, sometimes functions behave differently depending on what side of the function that they are on. By definition, a one-sided limit is the behavior on only one side of the value where the function is undefined. (3:02)
Calculus Limits: A Graphical Approach
This video explains the graphical approach to determine a limit. There are two ways to determine a limit: a numerical approach or a graphical approach. In the graphical approach, we analyze the graph of the function to determine the points that each of the one-sided limits approach. (3:02)
Infinite Limits: Vertical Asymptotes
This video explains when a limit decreases or increases without bound near certain values for the independent variables, they are called infinite limits. In general, a fractional function will have an infinite limit if the limit of the denominator is zero and the limit of the numerator is not zero. The infinite limit can be either positive or negative and is determined by the sign of the quotient of the numerator and the denominator. (3:23)
Continuity of a Function
This video explains the three conditions that must be met in order for a function to be continuous at a certain point. The continuity of a function only exists if these three conditions are met. (0:55)
Teaching Piano Chords to Children
When teaching piano chords to children, help them associate the idea with tying notes together to make a different sound. Show kids how to play several notes at once with helpful tips from a children's music instructor in this free video on piano lessons.
Explaining the Piano to Children
Expert Village video. This is the third lesson. This lesson is taught by Hope Wells. How to teach kids high and low keys on the piano, including tips for making it fun. Good quality video. Video would be good for any age student who is learning to play the piano.
