Analysis of Motivation and Demographic Factors that Influence Physical Therapists’ Decisions to At
Education for physical therapists has evolved to the doctorate of physical therapy degree and it is the vision of the American Physical Therapy Association that all physical therapists will be doctoral prepared by the year 2020. Most physical therapists do not have the DPT and prior studies have revealed that interest in the DPT is low for practicing physical therapists. This study examined the motivation of physical therapists to attain the DPT, by examining three areas of interest. What effect
The Effects of Two-way Mirrors, Video Cameras, and Observation Teams on Clients’ Judgments of the
Mirrors, video cameras, and live supervision are used throughout the country to train psychologists. Although this training equipment has been shown to increase self-focused attention, little is known about how this might affect the client’s perceptions of the therapeutic relationship. In order to do so, subjects were divided into two different setting groups: Full Training group in which the participant is exposed to all equipment (i.e., two-way mirror, video-recording equipment, and observat

How users behave in a combined community/content environment
Currently, combined community/content environments gain increasing importance in different areas of life, ranging from private to educational to corporate contexts. However, since they are still a novel achievement it is not so clear how they should be organised in order to their successful operation. For gaining a deeper insight in what makes such an environment work, the authors systematically analysed two public environments by evaluating user data and an online questionnaire covering the fol

Turtle's Navigation and Manipulation of Geometrical Figures Constructed by Variable Processes in a 3
Issues related to 3d turtle's navigation and geometrical figures' manipulation in the simulated 3d space of a newly developed computational environment, MaLT, are reported and discussed here. The joint use of meaningful formalism and the dynamic manipulation of graphically represented 3d figures seem to offer new resources and to pose new challenges as far as geometrical activities and construction of meanings are concerned, which are strongly related to the representational infrastructure of Ma

Virtual Continent in the Classroom: Teaching e-Business Integration Issues with Web-based Technologi
In this extended abstract we outline a Web-based learning approach for e-Business integration issues. We present a virtual toolbox, including an advisable open source tool and Web Service Application Programming Interfaces (WS APIs). By applying a collaborative learning model and by incorporating Web 2.0 features such as Web services, operating with the SOAP protocol, we were able to increase the motivational background as well as the learning success of our students significantly.

A New Analytical Approach on Continuous Improvement Evaluation: A National Presentation Case
This paper demonstrates a new approach on how to analyze evaluation data to find a teamÂ’s (sometimes called circle) improvement ability and the characteristics of evaluators by using the data from the national Quality Control Circle (QCC) presentations in Taiwan. Most evaluations on the QCC presentation use the itemized rating method or the duplex-pole evaluation method. The former has the negative effects of canceling out the higher and lower while the latter cannot distinguish the ability typ
Partners in Learning in Australian Schools
Elevating teachersÂ’ Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) skills to integrate technology into the curriculum is of crucial importance. It helps educators align technology with studentsÂ’ learning goals, and to more actively engage students in the learning process. Charles Sturt University (CSU) has developed a Graduate Certificate course aimed at enhancing the ICT skills of teachers for this purpose. A substantial part of the program is based on the Microsoft Partners in Learning (Pi
Evaluating Wiki as a tool to promote quality academic writing skills
In this study we investigated undergraduate teacher trainees' use of wikis, focusing on the use of shared spaces to communicate ideas and generate course specific content. We explored how students, through such activities, were to able to improve their academic writing skills. We discuss writing as a social practice and discuss how wikis might promote better academic writing. With data derived from student discussion boards and a post-module e-mail questionnaire (N=35) our findings indicate that
