Guide to EBL (Enquiry Based Learning)
This is one of a series of guides produced by the Imaginative Curriculum Network to stimulate thinking and promote good practice in curriculum design. This Guide focuses on ‘Enquiry-based Learning’ (EBL) – on curricula designed around processes of enquiry. Reginald Thompson - Breast Cancer Awareness
The Fugitive Slave Law and the book Uncle Tom's Cabin led to pro- and anti-slavery groups turn those in the North against slaves. The Kansas-Nebraska Act and the bloody aftermath of these states vote for or against slavery are also explained. Added to this was the Dred Scott decision. A good overview of causes of Civil War and how Lincoln became into the public's mind.
This is a book that can be use to teach students their letters and sounds.
This three minute video gives a very general overview of the war, not the causes. It stresses that this was the first industrial era war. Vague in content. Emancipation Proclamation mentioned and its impact is explained.

The battle at Pea Ridge, Arkansas is shown from the Confederate viewpoint. Basically a slide show with music narration. May be too intense for younger students. A map of the battle location would help students. Also, the fact they mention the battle was with Abe Lincoln's men instead of the United States of America is worth noting.
