A Nature and Nurture Walk in Mendel Park
"Ryan loves to eat black licorice. He would gladly share it with his friend, but she thinks it's gross." Nature? Or nature and nurture? "Whenever you look at Frieda and her son Filippo, you can tell they're related. Both have a hairline called a 'widow's peak.' Nature? Or nature and nurture?" Kids connect to genetics through the comics-style pictures and everyday park scenes in this game. By collecting the green stars from each genetics question, kids can solve the genetic riddle.
Random Music Generator
Our original idea was to be able to generate random music once the instrument sounds were synthesized. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, the best we could do was to have a program randomly pick chords and note durations from an input library. The resulting output was, as expected, random chords and notes that most people would probably not consider as music. How does one teach a program how to write music? One technique is the Markov chain.

Images from the Hubble Space Telescopes Faint Object Camera from 1991, 1992, and 1993 demonstrate motion in the R Aguarii emission jet. Since images from this period were still affected by the primary mirror flaw, the images were restored to the original design resolution using the maximum entropy method.

Lock and Key Binding of Testosterone to Cell Receptor Site
In this animation, anabolic steroid or its mimics, when injected, end up in circulation and bind with blood protein. Specific proteins (Androgen Receptor) in the muscle cells take up the steroid, undergoes structural changes and end up as a pair. This pair then translocates into the cell compartment (Nucleus), which houses the genetic material, comprising of thousands of genes. The steroid-bound protein pair locates its target genes (important for muscle growth), sits precisely on specific regio
