Why critique research?
Why published research needs to be appraised by readers.
Tissue Fluid Formation
This RLO describes the distribution of fluids within the body and describes the forces involved in the circulation of fluids between the capillary and tissue compartments.
Lock and Key Hypothesis
Introducing the "lock and key" analogy of drug-receptor interaction, whereby only drugs of a certain molecular shape will 'fit' with a cell membrane receptor.
Presenting and interpreting meta-analyses
How to present and interpret the results of a meta-analysis using forest plots.
Determining the clinical importance of trial results
This RLO demonstrates how to interpret and use clinical trial data (ARR, RRR, NNT, NNH, and confidence intervals) in practice.
Introduction to portfolios and their uses
To identify what a portfolio is, why they are used and to identify some pieces of material that may be used to support claims for learning and development.
Prokaryotes and eukaryotes
This RLO describes the characteristics of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
Cohort and case-controlled studies
This RLO explains what are case-control and cohort studies, and outlines the difference between them.
An introduction to receptor pharmacology
To describe the different types of receptor which drugs target.
Sound Booth Construction
Students explore the sound dampening ability of numerous materials by designing and prototyping model sound booths. As a result, students learn about how sound is reflected, absorbed and travels through various materials, thus giving them an overview of sound dampening, energy absorption and sound propagation in the context of engineering. Students also create blueprints and document their findings in a formal lab report.
Improving Care
This learning resource introduces the concept of improvement within health and social care. It shows how improvement may be initiated and evaluated. It also explains how improvement is everyone's concern, with small changes having the potential for large impact.

Light and electron microscope studies of host-parasite relations in a mycoparasite
Light microscope studies of the mycoparasite Piptocephalis
virginiana revealed that the cylindrical spores of the
parasite became spherical upon germination and produced 1-4
germ tubes. Generally t"l.vO germ tubes were produced by each
spore. When this parasite was inoculated on its potential
hosts, Choanephora cucurbitarum and Phascolomyces articulosus,
the germ tube nearest to the host hypha continued to grow and
made contact with the host hypha. The tip of the parasite's
germ tube became swol
3.7 Interest rate risk This has to be seen in conjunction with the previous comments about the secondary market in shares and debt instruments.
