Mini project : shopping cart development : presentation transcript
This is a Mini Project presentation about shopping carts on e-commerce websites. It is part of the 2009/10 BSc in Internet Technology and E-Commerce (course number 2ELE0076) from the University of Hertfordshire. All the mini projects are designed as level two modules of the undergraduate programmes. The project requires examination of several e-Commerce websites and their individual usage of the shopping cart. Students are required not only understand the successful examples of shopping cart

Poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) porous scaffold for tissue engineering. Enlargement of a Pore.
The patients own cells are seeded onto the scaffold and allowed to attach and start producing new bone. The construct is implanted into the defect site, where eventually the polymer will biodegrade and be completely removed, leaving a natural autogenous bone graft. This technique is particularly useful for large defects, or where the host bed is compromised due to disease, although it is still at the research stage. Average Pore Size 350-550 micrometre, porosity estimated at 35-45%.

Ni-Superalloy, as-extruded microstructure
The micrograph shows the three distinct phases of γ' present in polycrystalline superalloys. These are primary, secondary and tertiary γ', defined by their sizes (primary 0.5-1μm), (secondary 30-200nm), (tertiary 1-25nm) and their locations within the microstructure. Primary γ' segregates on the grain boundaries whereas the other forms are more uniformly distributed throughout the matrix. A grain boundary is clearly visible running from top right to bottom left. Due to the technique used, so

Dual-phase steel water quenched from 775°C
Same steel when quenched from 775°C. Carbides cannot be seen anymore. The microstructure is essentially martensite and ferrite. Some retained austenite can be seen as white small particles which are brighter than the background ferrite. Retained austenite measured using XRD was 3%. The step-etching technique has resulted in straw-coloured martensite, white austenite and the off-white ferrite at the background.

5.61 Physical Chemistry (MIT)
This course presents an introduction to quantum mechanics. It begins with an examination of the historical development of quantum theory, properties of particles and waves, wave mechanics and applications to simple systems — the particle in a box, the harmonic oscillator, the rigid rotor and the hydrogen atom. The lectures continue with a discussion of atomic structure and the Periodic Table. The final lectures cover applications to chemical bonding including valence bond and molecular orb

Lansdowne Pocket Park : Final Report
WK2MG Engineers have worked closely with the Landsowne Tree Board in an effort to convert an undeveloped piece of land into a pocket park that will better serve the community. The Tree Board wishes to integrate this park into the social and educational fabric of the community. The park, which is located at the intersections of Greenwood, Bryn Mawr, and Ardmore Avenues (Appendix II, Figure 1 & Figure 2), will be converted into a passive park for the residents, with enhanced wetland conditions to

Article :: Keying in After Effects CS3
Does the idea of keying conjure up images of a meteorologist on the evening news, or a shooting technique used in motion pictures? With After Effects, even the simplest, least-expensive project can take advantage of keying. The Adobe Creative Team takes us through a step-by-step example of this technique.

4.191 Introduction to Integrated Design (MIT)
During this course, we will be exploring basic questions of architecture through several short design exercises. Working with many different media, students will discover the interrelationship of architecture and its related disciplines, such as structures, sustainability, architectural history and the visual arts. Each problem will focus on one of these disciplines and one exploration and presentation technique.

3.986 The Human Past: Introduction to Archaeology (MIT)
This class introduces the multidisciplinary nature of archaeology, both in theory and practice. Lectures provide a comparative examination of the origins of agriculture and the rise of early civilizations in the ancient Near East and Mesoamerica. The laboratory sessions provide practical experience in aspects of archaeological field methods and analytical techniques including the examination of stone, ceramic, and metal artifacts and bone materials. Lab sessions have occasional problem sets whic

Revealing Student Understanding in a Problem-Based Educational Psychology Course
This 'class anatomy' includes the full documentation of one of the problems on the application of a technique for teaching reading as well as some video excerpts from the class, and analyses of the development of students' understanding. It represents the first attempt of a Carnegie Scholar and KML staff to produce a multi-media website. This site was revised in 2004 to emphasize the multimedia components of Cerbin's work from an original course portfolio which is located at http://gallery.carne

CuraÁao
CuraÁao is a computer program that simulates the sterile insect release method (SIRM) of pest population suppression, first conceived by E. F. Knipling (1955). The user can investigate the effects of several variables on the effectiveness of the method and discover what happens when some of the basic assumptions of the model are relaxed or violated in some way. The user should gain some understanding of the sorts of things that complicate the application of the technique in situations that are

Policy Analysis of Multi-Actor Systems
This course is about solving complex problems. Our favorite problems are not just technically complex but also characterized by the presence of many different social actors that hold conflicting interests, objectives, and perceptions and act strategically to get the best out of a problem situation. This course offers guidance for policy analysts who want to assess if and how their analysis could be of help, based on the premise that problem formulation is the cornerstone in addressing complex pr
