Using Chromosome Kits to Assemble Human Karyotypes
This exercise provides a hands on introduction to the preparation of human karyotypes. Students practice karyotype preparation using Biophotos of normal male and female chromosome smears. The students then prepare a karyotype using a Biophoto of chromosomes from a Down syndrome individual or from a Down syndrome carrier.

The collection serves as a visual documentation of the construction of streets, bridges, parks, and recreational facilities in the city of Pittsburgh. These views include excellent building, transportation, industrial, housing, and peripheral details of the history and development of Pittsburgh from the early 1900's and early part of the 21st century. The earliest known city photographer was Brady W. Stewart. Stewart eventually set up his own photography studio in downtown Pittsburgh. Other city
