The Senate goes against its Emperor and choses Atalus, the Emperor's former advisor, as a new leader. Alanis supports him. The deposed Emperor decides to pose a blockade to Rome's trade. As the citizens starve, the new leader loses popularity. Alaric turns against the new leader.

Alaric asks to negotiate with the former Emperor. He demands land. 410 AD, Alaric and the emperor are about to meet but battle breaks out. Alaric's barbarean army finally fell upon the city.
