Biologiste américain, Peter Agre s’est très tôt orienté vers la recherche médicale. En 1991, il isole la première protéine capable de faciliter les mouvements de l'eau à travers une membrane biologique, l’aquaporine. Cette découverte lui vaudra en 2003 le Prix Nobel de chimie.
A l'occasion de cette conférence, il revient, non sans humour, sur ces années d’engagement et de combat pour la recherche scientifique.

Ray Russell Inaugural Lecture "A life in music..."
Visiting Professor, Ray Russell delivered his inaugural lecture on Thursday 25 March in Gandhi Hall.
