This module looks at aspects of contemporary French culture in the context of an increasingly globalised culture and economy. In part, the module explores recent attempts to defend, redefine and interpret key aspects of French identity and culture as a means of negotiating ways of living in an era of globalisation and changing social structures.

Learn French- Learn 10 Sentences, Part 5
Learn 10 simple French sentences. Each sentence is said by a native French speaker 3 times. When the head on the right side 'blinks', that is the time for the viewer to say the sentence aloud. Each sentence is accompanied by an appropriate image. The video would be better served if there was a English translation.

Introduction to modelling for 1st year engineers
These resources cover an introduction to modelling for first year engineering undergraduate. The main focus is on electrical and mechanical systems, but there is also some discussion of dc motors, fluids and heat as well as an introduction to time series modelling. The main emphasis is on why modelling is important and how to go about doing this from first principles (e.g. Kirchhoff's laws, Newton's Laws, etc.). French Engineers: A case study for use in teaching in Engineering Ethics
This is an Engineering Ethics case study from the IDEA CETL. The scenario examines the problem of what to do when encountering unacceptable behaviour (drinking during work hours) while working abroad. It raises issues such as moral relativism; safety and risk; whistleblowing and professionalism. The case study is aimed at students who have not studied ethics before. The teaching format is a one hour session with small group discussions.

This resource is a comprehensive inorganic chemistry workbook for first year undergraduates. It is designed as a revision resource with plenty of worked examples followed by problems to try themselves.
