Brazilian Portuguese year 1 semester B

German stage 2 semester A
This module is aimed post GCSE students in semester A and addresses common grammatical problems areas. The grammar exercises are also supported by audio, so that the pronunciation is underlined and listening skills are practiced. The transcript reader of the listening exercises allows students to identify words/passages they find difficult to understand.
Mandarin stage 1 semester A
This module is aimed at complete beginners in Mandarin Chinese in semester A and exposes the student to listening and reading material, as well as practice in grammar. The transcript reader of the listening exercises allows students to identify words/passages they find difficult to understand.
Mandarin stage 1 semester B
This module is aimed at beginners in Mandarin Chinese in semester B (after 11 weeks of study) and allows the student to practice listening and reading skills, as well as practice in grammar. Mandarin stage 3 semester B
This module is aimed at students who have completed stage 2 Mandarin or have a comparable qualification. The exercises, some of which are supported by audio, concentrate on vocabulary development by using the concept of word families. The First Year of Studies Official Orientation Program—August 21, 2010
Each year, the First Year of Studies holds its Orientation Weekend to introduce first-year students and their families to campus life and to help them become more familiar with the University of Notre Dame. The 2010 Official Orientation Program at the Joyce Center, Purcell Pavilion, was attended by more than 5,000 people. Speaking at this event were Fr. John Jenkins, Dean Hugh Page, Fr. Thomas Doyle, and the 2010 Kolman-O'Hara Fellow, senior Bill Flavin.

Community Breakfast Kicks off New Year at UMass Amherst
More than 300 people gathered in the UMass Amherst Student Union on Sept. 1 for the 44th annual Community Breakfast. At the event, the university and the Town Amherst signed a memorandum of understanding to create the Gateway Redevelopment District to develop private student housing as part of a larger, mixed-use development project.
