Boiler Bytes: 2011 Bridge Bust Competition
Teams from 13 Indiana and Illinois high schools constructed bridges only to see them destroyed during the 32nd annual Bridge Bust contest March 4 at Purdue University. The competition is administered by the Purdue chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The evGrandPrix is an outgrowth of the Indiana Advanced Electric Vehicle Training and Education Consortium (I-AEVtec), which is developing degree and training programs for the electric-vehicle industry.
Some of the karts are built as part of class work developed through I-AEVtec.
2200 mpg solar car needs no gas
Purdue student engineers have designed a street-legal solar-powered commuter car that needs no gas. It can be plugged in to charge, but the solar panels generate so much electricity the car has enough juice to power an air conditioner and additional accessories.
