Acids are sour. Substances are labeled as either acids or bases. Bases are slippery, and turns lithmus paper blue, acids turn lithmus paper to red. Hydrogen Ions contain one hydrogen ion, andhydroxide form one oxygen atom. The process is called neutralization. This six minute video helps explains this. It is a bit different than other videos so teachers need to preview it as it moves rapidly and may need to be stopped for a more complete classroom explanation. Has a test at the end.
