Texas Tech Celebrates National Reading Day at Local Elementary School
Texas Tech University President Guy Bailey along with engineering professor Michelle Pantoya celebrated National Reading Day al Ramirez Charter School in Lubbock. Pantoya co-authored an engineering book designed for children called "Pride by Design." The book looks at how engineering is integrated throughout sports, a topic Pantoya says children can easily relate with.
'Crimson to go' license plates help support WSU scholarship fund
The newly designed, all-crimson, Washington State University vehicle license plate is now available for sale from the state Department of Licensing.
Inspired by the design of WSU's "Ol' Crimson" flag, the new plate features silvery-white WSU Cougar logo and lettering on a solid crimson plate. It is available at an initial cost of $40, plus regular vehicle registration fees and cost an additional $30 annually thereafter. Check your local DOL office for exact fees.

Septins rein in the membrane
By: JCB T cells require the septin family of GTP-binding proteins to maintain the integrity of their plasma membranes as they invade through tissues. Gilden et al. reveal that septins function by assembling on membrane blebs to retract them back into shape.
