Flying Smarts
Ever wondered what goes into the research behind creating an unmanned aerial vehicle for surveillance, search and rescue, civil infrastructure maintenance and so on, that can be used by almost anyone with minimal training? The Computer Vision and Robotics group at the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science is doing just that in collaboration with the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
The project is postgraduate research funded by an ARC Discovery Grant.
Mass murder of Kamenka Jews-part 2
Ilya Boltyanskii, who was born in 1924 in Kamenka and lived there during the war years, recounts how the old Jews, Jewish women, and Jewish children were locked in a pigsty and held there for several days without water or food, then taken to the Zlatoustovka ravine, and shot them. Most of the children were thrown into the ravine alive.

The Eyes Have It is an interactive teaching and assessment program on vision care. The Instructional Mode provides an overview of the visual system and disorders of the eyes using photographs or captioned streaming videos supplemented with text.
