Jean-Michel Othoniel: My Way
This exhibition presents a survey of the twenty-five-year career of Jean-Michel Othoniel (French, born 1964), from his first intimate, enigmatic works made of sulfur and wax to his recent large-scale, colorful glass sculptures. Working with these mutable materials, he has fashioned a poetic visual language to explore themes surrounding the body, beauty, desire, and metamorphosis.
The title My Way references Othoniel's idiosyncratic path among various movements in contemporary art, including Art

Shape grammars for analyzing social housing: The case of Jardim S?o Francisco low-income housing dev
This paper presents an analysis of Jardim S?o Francisco, a lowincome housing development in S?o Paulo, Brazil, using shape grammar as an analytical method. It is part of an ongoing research that aims at analyzing the different types of sitting in low-income housing developments and their consequences for public spaces. The fi nal objective is to propose a design method that allows designing better quality urban spaces in this type of development.

This play can be based on the Elementary GLOBE book "All About Earth: Our World on Stage" or on other student-generated topics representing interconnections of the Earth systems. Making a scaled bar graph (Common Core 3.MD.3)
This video (running time 4:40) explains how to make a scaled bar graph by skip counting. Beginning by defining the word scaled as "using a shrinking machine," it explains the purpose of drawing things to scale. Data is given in table format, showing why a scaled bar graph is needed (the numbers are too big to count by ones).
