The main objective of these handbooks is to build the capacities of facilitators and other literacy and non-formal education personnel to promote learning and development at the community level. The instructional packages include animations, video, posters, booklets and illustrations about literacy, saving money, health, environment and important everyday life issues.

A Day in the Life of a Drop
A Day in the Life of a Drop is a set of activities designed to help students in grades 3-5 understand the connections between the source of the water they use and the ways their water use habits affect the environment and human health. Students also learn how to reduce their impacts and engage family members. After completing the worksheets provided, students and families take the Pledge to Filter Out Bad Water Habits to demonstrate their commitment to saving water for the future.

In NASA CONNECT Better Health From Space to Earth, students will learn about the importance of good nutrition and exercise. They will investigate what we can learn in space about our bodies here on Earth. Alternative small scale meteorology input to a chemical transport model
In order to respond to the increasing demand for better understanding of the environment, air quality studies at different scales are required. The Community Multi-scale Air Quality Model (CMAQ) chemical transport model is designed to handle all major scales of interest. However, the meteorology input to the model has to represent adequately the atmospheric conditions at these scales. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by the uncoupling of bloodglucose levels and insulin secretion, causing abnormal glycemic excursions. Type 1diabetes is characterized by a complete insulin deficiency. Treatment consists ofattempting to match exogenous insulin delivery to the metabolic needs of the patientduring meals, exercise, and sleep. The objective is to minimize the frequency and severityof glycemic excursions and, more importantly, avoid hypoglycemic episodes.
