Money Math: Lessons for Life
In these four lessons students learn: 1. How saving helps people become wealthy. They develop "rules to become a millionaire" as they work through a series of exercises, learning that it is important to: save early and often, save as much as possible, earn compound interest, try to earn a high interest rate, leave deposits and interest earned in the account as long as possible, and choose accounts for which interest is compounded often. Tangent Ratios
This video explains how tangent ratios, along with cosine and sine ratios, are ratios of two different sides of a right triangle. Tangent ratios are the ratio of the side opposite to the side adjacent the angle they represent. In order to find the measure of the angle itself, one must understand inverse trigonometric functions. Space Diagonal
The Pythagorean theorem is useful when we need to find the length of a space diagonal in a rectangular prism. This video describes how the space diagonal passes through the space between vertices, instead of the bases or lateral faces. In other words, it is the diagonal that joins two opposing vertices in the prism, or the two vertices that don't share a face with each other. (1:48)

In this classic 1978 Sesame Street Video, Ernie sings about the moon, the sea, and the jungle. He sings about all the good things that are there but doesn't want to live there. This is a fun resource for young students and can open the door to good classroom discussions.

This seven minute video discusses the reform movement in regard to mental illness and prisons of the 1800s. The work of Dorothy Dix is explained and its importance. The modern public education movement under Horace Mann is explained, too. The 18th amendment's passage and the causes are also examined and its failure. A good overview of the progressive movement and those responsible for its improvements.
