Communication Systems I
The first portion of the class will cover topics in analog communication. Beginning with basic Fourier transform properties, techniques for analog modulation and demodulation will be developed. Insights to these problems will be uncovered along the way. The majority of this course will be devoted digital communication.

Computer Applications for Instruction and Training
Introduction to basic computer applications on a Macintosh computer, with special emphasis on software that may be used in instruction and training. In this course, students will orient themselves to the Macintosh environment, get a brief overview of Macintosh-specific software, and learn the fundamental basics of the following tools available to assist in instruction and training: PowerPoint, Photoshop, GoLive, and iMovie.
Cultural Anthropology
This course covers the basic areas of anthropology including biological evolution, the prehistoric evolution of early civilizations, language, culture and social life, and the analyses of the nature and variability of human institutions. However, the components that deal with cultural anthropology are heavily emphasized.
Power of Positive Parenting
This course has been developed using portions from several of the books, videos, and audio products produced by Glenn Latham. These materials will give parents the skills necessary to raise children well. Glenn Latham said of his book, The Power of Positive Parenting, which is his definitive book, upon which this course is built, that it has been subjected to more independent, scientific scrutiny than any parenting book in print today. In every instance, it has been shown to be an effective pare
Flash
This course familiarizes students with Macromedia Flash. Topics to be covered include fundamental programming concepts (variables, variable types, code re-use, commenting code, and basic control structures) in addition to the fundamentals of the flash environment (animation, vector graphics, use of sound and video). Students finishing this course will have at least one completed fully functional Flash project for their portfolios demonstrating a strong knowledge of the tool and a good foundation
Microbiology and Immunology
This internet textbook covers all aspects of microbiology and immunology and is based on our course for second year Medical Students.
Web Design Tips
Christopher Merrill discussed basic web design tips for new web designers. Less is always more. It is better to have one large quality image than a mess of images. Keep it simple. (2:05)
NASA CONNECT Rocket to the Stars: Introduction to Algebra
In NASA CONNECT Rocket to the Stars, students will learn the basic science concepts of work and energy and see how algebra can be used to help explain both concepts. NASA is working on new ways of powering spacecraft that will reduce the travel time to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Students will be introduced to two cutting edge innovative propulsion technology programs, Prometheus and VASIMR, that will allow crewed and uncrewed vehicles to explore the distant reaches of the solar system. Grades 6
KiteModeler
KiteModeler was developed in an effort to foster hands-on, inquiry-based learning in science and math. KiteModeler is a simulator that models the design, trimming, and flight of a kite. The program works in three modes: Design Mode, Trim Mode, or Flight Mode. In the Design Mode (shown below), you pick from five basic types of kite designs. You can then change design variables including the length and width of various sections of the kite. You can also select different materials for each componen

TALAT Lecture 3502: Impact Extrusion Processes
This lecture describes the impact extrusion processes as well as the forces and deformations acting on the tools and work-piece in order to give insight into the relation between part design, process and tooling. Basic knowledge about the formability of metals and background in mechanical engineering is assumed.
TALAT Lecture 3503: Finishing and other Supplementary Operations
This lecture describes supplementary fabrication measures for impact extruded parts and gives some examples of finished impacts. Basic knowledge about the formability of metals and background in mechanical engineering is assumed.
TALAT Lecture 3504: Impact Extrusion Design Aspects and Properties
This lecture describes the forms and shapes which can be fabricated by impact extrusion; it points out limiting factors in the freedom of design of impacts; it helps to learn about the factors affecting tolerances and surface roughness of impacts. Basic knowledge about the formability of metals and background in mechanical engineering is assumed.
TALAT Lecture 3505: Tools for Impact Extrusion
This lecture provides knowledge about design philosophy and tool materials for impact tools, which are a cost factor and eminently important for successful impact extrusion. Basic knowledge about the formability of metals and background in mechanical engineering is assumed.
Sticks and Stones Game
Students will play Sticks and Stones, a game based on the Apache game "Throw Sticks," which was played at multi-nation celebrations. Students will collect data, investigate the likelihood of various moves, and use basic ideas of expected value to determine the average number of turns needed to win a game.
Basic Essay Writing
This is part of a larger video segment called Living With Essays that explores how to construct a basic four-paragraph essay, but the viewer will be able to glean ideas from this shortened five-minute clip. The instructor does explain how to write the first paragraph.
Tackling Diabetes and Obesity in the UK's South Asian Communities
Recent research has highlighted the problems of growing rates of diabetes and obesity in the UK's South Asian communities. A number of factors, including diet, lifestyle and genetics, means that there is increased exposure to these conditions and the associated risk of heart disease, strokes and other problems.
Researchers at the University of Warwick have been working closely with South Asian communities in Leamington Spa and Coventry to develop strategies for tackling the obesity time bomb.
Introduction to Electronic Government
This course is an introduction to electronic government (e-government). Our basic premise that the governments' use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is not an end in itself, certainly not a technical exercise, but a tool to achieve better government. e-Government includes all measures to further this goal with the combination of ICT and the necessary organisational improvement. This definition is the point of departure for the rest of the course that covers: reasons to embrace e
