SART 190 Media Art I
The objective of this course is to provide students with hands-on production experience while familiarizing them with the various visual and textual discourses that surround traditional and contemporary disciplines within media art. Many disciplines covered in this course share common histories and inter-related studio practices, interdisciplinary work is therefore encouraged.

This course continues the multi-disciplinary approach to art making developed in Media Art I. This course is intended to advance technical and conceptual development of time-based art practices and begin the development of independent art making. Students begin to compile documentation of their media art practice, and think about the specific modes of presentation related to media art. The life sciences industry: An introduction
This unit covers the emergence of the Life Sciences sector out of its precursor the pharmaceutical industry. After examining some historical perspectives it uses case studies to look at developments in the science, business and, primarily, management strategies used in Life Sciences. It also briefly considers Life Sciences' place in the wider story of health provision. This introductory unit will be of interest to managers in the Life Sciences sector and to the general reader.
What children's perspectives tell us about inclusion
The underlying premise of this unit is that we are all experts in different ways, and that our different experiences and understandings are of value. Inclusive education is presented and discussed as under construction, both in educational settings and as a concept. The materials to be found in this unit are largely rooted in the social model of disability and human/disability rights frameworks.

Bias in media coverage of Roxbury crime
Callie Crossley reports on the documentary film Street Cop, set in Roxbury. Crossley interviews Roxbury community activists Georgette Watson and Ben Haith about the documentary's portrayal of crime and drug traffic in the community.
