2010 WASH Media Awards Ceremony
Out of more than 180 entries from 40 countries, nine journalists have been named the winners of the 2009/2010 WASH Media Awards.
The WASH Media Award initiative recognizes and supports the crucial role of the media in raising awareness of the importance of water, sanitation and hygiene services. It aims to help improve access to these services by having a positive influence on politicians, business persons, civil society representatives and individual citizens.

Louis Sorkin, a scientific assistant who has worked at the American Museum of Natural History for over 30 years, maintains a small colony of a few thousand bed bugs in four jars in his lab and has become a media expert on this group of animals.
