ESF demography report 2008
The European Commissions free Demography Report is published every two years. The 2008 version reports on the ageing society and changing family and households in the European Union countries. The report comes under the auspices of the European Social Fund (ESF). Its sub-title is 'Meeting social needs in an ageing society' and there are some interesting findings about fertility rates, life expectancy, migration, marriage and composition of households. Dosta!
Dosta is part of a wider Council of Europe and European Commission programme. Meaning 'enough' in the Romani language, it aims to bring Roma people closer to non-Romany citizens in Europe. It is active in various European countries (including Bosnia, Montenegro, FYROM Madeconia) but could be relevant across Europe. This site provides free access to the full text of European Parliament election briefing no.28 by Stijn van Kessel which was published by EPERN (European Parties Elections and Referendums Network) in June 2009. The 11 page paper provides an overview of the 2009 European elections in the Netherlands. It includes coverage of the context, the campaigns and analyses the Dutch results and voter turnout figures.
EU diplomacy papers
The EU diplomacy papers are a collection of working papers published by the College of Europe. They cover issues relating to the interdisciplinary study of the European Unions external relations and external aspects of EU internal policies. It is possible to access the full text of all papers published since 2006. Key topics are EU foreign policy and EU relations with specific regions of the world such as Iran.
