Metacognition as a precursor to self-consciousness : evolution, development and epistemology (MPSC)
Metacognition as a Precursor to Self-Consciousness (MPSC) is the website of a collaborative research project, coordinated by Joëlle Proust of the Institut Jean-Nicod in Paris. The project comprises seven sub-projects, based around Europe and in the USA, dealing with a range of different aspects of philosophy of mind and cognitive science. One of the sub-projects, Metacognition from a Logical Point of View (based at the University of Bristol) is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council
Leafy Spurge Weed Invasion
This video segment from Evolution: "Extinction!" explores the invasion of western U.S. grasslands by a Eurasian weed called leafy spurge. Brought to this country in the 1800s, leafy spurge has progressively taken over grazing land from the native grasses.
