Prelude from Bach´s Cello Suite No. 1 played by Yo-Yo Ma
In this live video (in color) Yo-Yo Ma plays the prelude from Bach´s Cello Suite No. 1. This video has live footage of Yo-Yo Ma playing his cello in different settings mixed with still colored photos throughout. The Cello Suites were most likely composed during the period 1717–1723, when Bach served as a Kapellmeister in Cöthen.
The suites contain a great variety of technical devices, a wide emotional range, and some of Bach's most compelling voice interactions and conversations.
