Dreary, chilly months can lead to the 'winter blues', expert says
Dr. Charles Schulz, M.D., head of the University of Minnesota psychiatry department, says SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is a mood disorder that affects people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year but experience a mood change when temperatures cool down, days become shorter and sun exposure is limited.
Schulz has some helpful tips on how people can identify SAD and cope with the sometimes dreary winter months.
