This video will demonstrate how to build a rain gauge from everyday household materials (printed ruler from website, glass jar, clear tape). This video was made with the intention of using it as a project in a 4th grade classroom.
Rain Gauge Information
The Rain Gauge is a type of instrument used by meteorologists to gather and measure the amount of liquid precipitation (normally liquid as opposed to solid such as snow) over a set period of time. This video is set to music. Various styles of rain gauges are show along with information printed on the screen like the best area to place your rain gauge.
