Los modelos lineales en los parámetros aparecen con frecuencia en multitud de ciencias experimentales, ya que permiten por ejemplo estudiar la influencia de ciertos factores en la variabilidad de los datos (Análisis de la Varianza), o caracterizar una variable como función de otra u otras (Modelos de Regresión, Análisis de la Covarianza).
