Bonnie Gangemi came to see Dr. Ahmet Baschat at the University of Maryland Medical Center's Center for Advanced Fetal Care after being diagnosed with Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Dr. Baschat performed laser ablation surgery that saved the lives of her twin boys, who were born two months after the surgery and are now happy and healthy. Bonnie shares her story in this video.

Virtual plants in high school informatics – L-systems
A creation of models is becoming an important part of informatics education besides algorithmization and programming. An appropriate example concerning use of computer science while modelling real world are the L-systems. In the paper we describe a proposal of teaching of plantÂ’s growth modelling by the L-systems at a high school. Our goal is to help students to understand and try creation of plantÂ’s model on the computer.

Exploring the secondary transfer of gifted and talented pupils
In my research I am endeavouring to investigate the experiences of academically gifted children transferring from primary to secondary school. This involves examining the policy context of the national, regional and local arenas, the ways in which pupils experience this provision within their classrooms, and the influence of their home environment.
