Water Vapor Measurements from HALOE (1992-1997)
An animated graph showing HALOE measurements of the water vapor amounts in the upper stratosphere, illustrating that it takes about 5 years for CFCs to reach the upper atmosphere. Tropical water vapor changes slowly with seasonal cycles. These changes, shown here as thick bands, were found to slowly ascend. These measurements tell us how fast the CFCs and other pollutants rise into the stratosphere.

AMAZON BASIN
In short, the Amazon Basin (Amazonia) is covered by the largest tropical rain forest in the world, and running through its heart is the Amazon River, and its more than 1,000 tributaries, seven of them more than 1,000 miles in length. Measurable rain falls on an average of 200 days a year, and total rainfall often approaches 100 inches per year.
The overall basin drains over 2,70

Discovering Devonian Microfossils
Microfossils are small, fossilized remains of organisms (animal, plant, or protozoa) that require magnification for study. They usually derive from the hard parts of organisms (skeletons, shells, jaws, teeth, seed coverings, etc), and may be imbedded in rock or exist as loose particles within soft substrate. Research studies of microfossils provide insights into ecological and evolutionary relationships among plant and animal communities that existed on earth hundreds of millions of years ago. M
Artemia observation
This organism is microscopic and does not cause disease and can be beneficial as a food source for other aquatic animals. A mm square grid is used to observe the measure of length of this organism.

Frequency
In this interactive activity adapted from the University of Utah's ASPIRE Lab, learn about the frequency and period of an oscillating object. Vary the time it takes a child to jump up and down on a trampoline to see how that changes the frequency of the jumping motion. Next, change the period of a pendulum by adjusting the length of its string and see the mathematical relationship between period and frequency. Finally, see how the electromagnetic spectrum consists of a range of frequencies.
