This first part of the documentary introduces what WWII was and why it was the war of the century. The documentary shows that before invading Poland, Germany signed the Nazi-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, securing the eastern border of Germany. This part of the documentary shows footage of the battlefield and there are former soldiers giving their account of the event. German captured millions of soviet soldiers. Then they moved to Moscow. The defence of the capital is explained. There were attempts at peace treaties but they were not signed. Stalin was about to leave Moscow but decided to stay and defend the capital at any cost, even taking actions against his own people.

This part of the documentary states that more civilians died in the east during the war than in any other part. There is footage of the artillery used and you can also see part of Stalin's speech just before the battle started. There is an explanation of the tactics and orders the red army had. Those who were not ready to obey the rules were shot. The weather grew harsh and the German were not ready for that. The German army also had to obey staying there no matter what happened.

This part of the documentary explains that the German did not step backwards even when they were not able to do much due to the weather.  There is reference to both groups' harsh techniques. Some Ukrainian people had welcome the German who promised to set them free from Stalin. However, they were not helped by the Nazi. On the contrary, they would take their agrarian production. There is a description of the brutal Nazi occupation. The way the Jews were killed in Ukraine is mentioned.

This part of the documentary refers to the fear the Ukrainian population lived in. There was an area of Ukraine where the population was only given food if they worked for the German. Thousands starved and got no help. There is footage showing people on the streets looking for food. There are accounts of people who survived and retell what they had to do to be able to get something to eat. There is reference to the guerrilla war that took place in the forests.

This part of the documentary shows how Partisan groups in Ukraine had killed any person that could be against their power even before the war. Sometimes they did it as a way to warn the rest of the population who could be against the communist regime. The Partisans were also a problem for the German who had occupied some territory. The German destroyed the Partisan's homes and they took their food. This tenth part of the documentary shows that Hitler was ready to end the Partisans with brutality. Chaos and terror was the result. There were raids in villages and civilians were killed. The German army killed thousands of innocents and there is documentation shown as evidence, survivors accounts and former soldiers retelling their experience

Part 11 of the documentary sums up how Stalin planned to attack the German invaders in Ukraine. He had demanded action but the result was a disaster. The Soviets outnumbered the German but they were not well equipped. The video then shows how the Soviet learnt to win. Hitler is shown on his trip to the east to congratulate his troops.
