A Lot Less Snow
In the winter of 1999-2000, relatively little snow cover blanketed North America, and it melted early. Users can read and view satellite imagery that discusses how NASA's Terra satellite and its Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS) were able to record this phenomenon, and how spring snow cover data can be used to predict flood or drought conditions.

These milkweed bugs have molted their outer coverings so they can grow into adults. Milkweed bugs look lighter in color after they have molted.
Art in Engineering - Moving Art

Math Club Graphs 2011
First grade math club students created surveys, polled their classmates using clickers, and recorded their data in pie and bar graphs. They created a Podcast to show what they learned. This is a young student done podcast. It is best used as an example of what students can do to integrate math with technology.

This 2:32 long video shows how these penguins live and survive in the coldest of climates. It shows how the parents care for the young and how they find food. A good introduction to animal adaption as well as a case study.
The Lion King- In ASL

The Dic-Dic-Dictionary This song is from the record "What's the Good Word." The video/picture does not change. Song starts with a person explaining how the dictionary began then proceeds into song and explains what a dictionary is, what it contains, and why you use it. Video would be more interesting if picture changed, but quality of song is good. Good for early elementary students. This is 1960s vintage. (2:36)
