This video starts with a 1945 speech by David Ben-Gurion where he urges for Jewish immigration to Palestine. There is footage of the end of the war and the Jews that survived. The fight for independence would begin. There is reference to displacement camps organised by the American and British. Jews demanded to go to Palestine but Britain rejects this possibility. Nations had not opened the doors to these displaced Jews. There is reference to the political reasons why this happened.

Recorded for Columbia Records 1927, the main fiddle here is Michael Coleman, on piano is Ed Geoghegan, and second fiddle is Packie Dolan. These are two common Irish reels. Coleman was one of the first Irish musicians to be recorded and his records exerted a huge influence on Irish music in the 20th century.
