Cycle of a Butterfly (Interactive Game)
In this animated interactive game, this short film teaches the students the different stages of the life of a Butterfly. The voice is quite computerized, but still suitable. Kids can learn all about the butterfly life cycle with this fun and educational lesson plan.(1:45)
Food Chain and Food Web (Interactive Game)
This animated interactive game, teaches the students about consumers, predators, omnivore, of, lions, snakes, and more. Students will learn how some animals eat other plants and animals to survive and create a food chain, with this interactive lesson plan. The voice is quite computerized, but still suitable.(3:02)
Reading Rainbow: Kate Shelley & the Midnight Express
LeVar takes a train ride from California to Washington state. Along the way, we learn about trains and how the transcontinental railroad came to be. Brian Dennehy narrates the true story of how a young teen named Kate Shelley risked her life to save the engineers of a train that crashed into a river when the bridge near her home collapsed. The story is told of how Kate got word to the nearest station to alert them to stop the express train. The story is accompanied by illustrations. ( The

The Brave Men of Titanic
As the Titanic was sinking, passengers were loaded onto lifeboats by the deck crew. The engineering crew stayed at their posts to work the pumps, controlling flooding as much as possible. This action ensured the power stayed on during the evacuation and allowed the wireless radio system to keep sending distress calls. These men bravely kept at their work and helped save more than 700 people, even though it would cost them their own lives. In this clip learn more about these brave men. (3:35)
Saving the Titanic
When Robert Ballard and his team discovered the Titanic in 1985, they chose not to remove anything from the wreckage. According to the laws of the sea, removing anything would have meant that Ballard and his team were the owners of the site. Two years later, a private company returned to the site of the wreck and claimed it as their own by removing artifacts. In this video clip, learn more about the ship Titanic.
Constructing the Titanic
Shipbuilders worked tirelessly for two years to create the mammoth structure that was to become the Titanic, and eight workers died during its construction. After the ship was finished in 1912, the Titanic was set for its maiden voyage in early April. In this video clip, learn more about the construction of Titanic. (1:37)

DNA Libraries (Interactive)
In this interactive resource adapted from the Dolan DNA Learning Center, learn about DNA libraries, the tools scientists use to store and reproduce genetic information that they can later access for their research. The interactive resource features five different types of DNA libraries. Each gets its name from the type of molecule or organism used to host DNA segments of varying lengths.
DNA Extraction (Interactive)
In this interactive activity adapted from the University of Nebraska's Plant and Soil Science eLibrary, learn how DNA is extracted from leaf tissue for molecular techniques, such as PCR. As the animated sequence shows, DNA extraction involves collecting cells, physically breaking them open to release DNA from the nuclei, separating the DNA from other cellular components, and precipitating DNA out of solution for final extraction. The process utilizes basic laboratory tools, such as microfuge tub

DNA Sequencing (Interactive)
In this interactive activity adapted from the Dolan DNA Learning Center, examine the techniques geneticists use to read a sequence of DNA fragments. Sequencing enables scientists to analyze DNA and ultimately piece together the genomes of living organisms. The activity features Fred Sanger's original sequencing method, developed in 1977, and an automated version of Sanger's method that uses computers to read and interpret data. This newer technique provides a faster and more reliable means of se
The Thirsty Crow (Interactive Game/Story)
This moral story, is more complex phonic decoding and abbreviations are introduced. Children are encouraged to read with expressions. Suitable for Grade 1 and above. This interactive story is about a clever crow who teaches that where there is a will, there is a way.. Kids will learn to read with more complex phonic decoding. Word list:thirsty, them, there, the, stones, sunny, pitcher, and more. Double syllable words and punctuations are introduced. Suitable for Kindergarten
