Beginner's Guide to FTP
If you're interested in setting up your own website, you'll need to upload files to your hosting company. This film explains what uploading and FTP are, and how to do it.
Your website's files aren't hosted on your computer; they're hosted on a server which is probably miles away from you. You need to get your website's files up to the server in order for your website to go live.
This is done by ftp, which stands for “File Transfer Protocol”. Through the control pane
