Hello My Name is Tom
This resource gives an insight into the world of a young person with an Autistic Spectrum disorder (ASD). It concentrates on interaction with Tom, a young person with ASD, within the school environment. The RLO was created by a learning disability nursing student based on his interaction with a number of individuals with ASD. This RLO won the 2009 Fiona Law prize for student-led innovation awarded by the National Network of Learning Disability Nursing.

Practice in Landscape Planning and Design, Part I
This is a studio course for the students who experience spatial design for the first time. Students learn roles and meanings of spatial design and what are good spatial designs as well as basic knowledge and skills on landscape design.
Epidemiology core
This course is for the students who major public health. The lecture concerning epidemiology and clinical studies will be held in this course.
Food and environment under economic development and globalization
Instructors with enough experience of fieldwork in Japan or foreign countries show what have experienced. They expect the students to understand the positive and negative aspects of globalization.
Thermodynamics
This is an elementary course of thermodynamics for physics, physical chemistry and engineering. The lecture purpose is to introduce the second law of thermodynamics and the important notion of entropy. Mathematical tools, especially formula on the partial differentiation are lectured in the first class to help beginner students.
Statistical Physics
This course picks up the historical process leading to statistical mechanics, which is an important branch of modern physics. The lecture must also be very interesting even for the students who do not necessarily need statistical mechanics in their major but want to enjoy a part of essence of modern physics.

How does the computer's peculiar binary world of digital entities differ from our analogue world of colour, sound, taste and touch? This unit explores the way in which information, in the form of text, still and moving images, and sound can cross the boundary from the analogue universe into a digital world.

Species Diversity, Island Biogeography, and the Design of Nature Reserves
This field and laboratory investigation is an open-ended exercise designed to test predictions from island biogeography theory using various-sized fragments of leaf litter arthropod communities as "island" systems. Litter islands are constructed in a deciduous forest and students collect samples of leaf litter and extract arthropods using the Berlese Funnel technique. After arthropods are collected, students learn identification techniques, compute diversity indices, construct dominance-diversit
Using Human Blood, Saliva, and Dental Caries in the Biology Teaching Laboratory
Laboratory exercises using saliva, urine, and blood were developed because they met specific, desirable learning objectives. Moreover, because they use the student's own body, they had the advantage of high student interest. Since the method of transmission of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) was uncovered, questions have arisen about the safety of using blood and other body fluids in teaching. Disinfection and safety procedures that minimize the risk of transmitting diseases in the laboratory
