Collaborative Ontological Engineering of Instructional Design Knowledge for an ITS Authoring Environ
Intelligence in an ITS authoring system could rely on content-based engineering of instructional design (ID) knowledge, i.e. based on principles such as conceptualization, standardization and theory -awareness. An ontology - based architecture with appropriate ontologies has been proposed for a theoryaware ITS authoring system. Ontological engineering (OE) as a collaborative process jointly conducted by an OE expert and an ID expert is presented as a step on a roadmap towards a theory-aware ITS

Middle School Portal: Math and Science Pathways (MSP2)
M.C. Escher is a widely known and popular artist whose work depicts complex, and often impossible, geometrical patterns. This Web site examines the mathematics behind his drawings. Many examples of Escher's work are given, illustrating mathematical principles such as the shape and the logic of space. Tessellations and polyhedra are common building blocks of the drawings. It is quite interesting to see how basic designs are transformed into the intricacies depicted by Escher. The material is cert

Middle School Portal: Math and Science Pathways (MSP2)
This virtual manipulative offers two modes for examining the patterns of multiples found on a grid displaying the numbers 2-200. In one mode, the student clicks a number on the grid, turning it red and removing all multiples of the number from the grid. This process can be repeated until only prime numbers remain. In the other mode, the student highlights one or two numbers, with multiples of the first turning red and the second blue. In both modes, number patterns and relationships can be obser

The consequences of antisocial behavior in older male siblings for younger brothers and sisters
The contribution of younger male and female siblings’ conflict and involvement in deviant activities with their older brothers to younger siblings’ adolescent adjustment problems was examined in the context of parenting.
