16.522 Space Propulsion (MIT)
Space Propulsion begins with a review of rocket propulsion fundamentals. The course then proceeds into advanced propulsion concepts, ranging from chemical to electrical engines. Propulsion system selection criteria and mission analysis are introduced. The bulk of the semester is devoted to the physics and engineering of various engine classes, including electrothermal, electrostatic and electro-magnetic. Specific topics include arcjets, ion engines, Hall thrusters and colloid thrusters.
First Year Chinese I
This course provides an understanding of basic principles of Chinese speaking and written language. The focus in Chinese 1010 is on pronunciation and simple Chinese character writing.

Caryn Saxon - Academic Spotlight
Caryn Saxon is the coordinator for the Networks for Girls program in Missouri State University's Center for Dispute Resolution, and a student in the criminology program.
She was selected to conduct listening research through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and the Center for Girls and Young Women at the National Council on Crime and Delinquency.

Solutions to the national debt crisis are not terribly difficult -- if politics can be removed from the equation.
That is the theme of a free public forum to be presented Dec. 7 by the Institute for Strategic Policy Solutions at the college. Titled "Solving the National Debt Crisis: It's Not Rocket Science," the forum will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Conference Center at the Seminole Campus.
