The Chinese Pipa
If you want to play this cool instrument, you need some serious hand coordination. The pipa is a pear-shaped string instrument that is native to China. The “pi” means to push the right-hand fingers from right to left, and “pa” is to pull the thumb of the right hand from left to right. Two ferrofluid Hele-Shaw cells have been constructed to facilitate the imaging of magnetic field lines.
